The E2E management commissioned KGB productions to initially deliver 6 one day Film Making and Media workshops. These were delivered to 8 learners at a time from various members of the partnership on a first come first serve basis. The members who took part in the project were; A and R training, KYT, Rathbone Training, CVT,CMS and Connected2.

The workshop gave young people who would not normally have the opportunity to experience the various aspects of the film industry the chance to learn about all the elements of film production. The groups involved took part in a series of confidence and team building activities and then went on to a have an induction in the basic workings of the camera and sound equipment. They used professional equipment to learn the basic skills and procedure for making a film and they then developed their ideas through brain storming/improvisation/ story boarding through to a finished short film. The trainees who took part completed work sheets and various tasks and were assessed for wider key skills (1) Problem Solving and (2) Working with others.

All the learners who took part were very enthusiastic and committed throughout the projects this resulted in several films being made which would not be out of place on a degree level show case. A number of learners expressed an interest in Media, which they had not held before and felt that this was now an option for them to consider at college.

All the learners taking part in the project received a DVD of their film.

The project aimed in general to:

1. Unlock potential
2. Raise self esteem
3. Increase confidence
4. Encourage collaborative learning
5. Improve problem solving skills
6. Highlight  links between the film industry and core skills
7. Stimulate interest in the film and media industry
