Key Learning Outcomes: |
Learners will be offered the opportunity to achieve units of the C&G Personal and Social Development qualification at entry levels 2 and 3 and also level 1.
There will be the opportunity to work on the functional skills at entry 3 and level 1 for Maths and English.
Day sessions such as drug awareness, alcohol awareness, manual handling and financial inclusion training may also be built into the programme.
Learners will be given the opportunity to work towards the Ascentis Preparation for Employment in the Construction Industries at both entry levels and level 1.
Learners will receive on how they are progressing with regards to attendance, time keeping, attitude, behaviour and areas for development. Internal certificates will be awarded for various aspects of the programme. |

Programme Content:
E.g. additional advice and guidance, reorientation activities.
|
The programme will be 50% vocational and 50% personal and social development.
Vocational will include tasters in the workshop in the areas of brickwork (plastering taster included), painting and decorating and joinery. Learners will have the opportunity to experience each area to gain basic knowledge in the trades. We will also arrange for learners to have tasters with other training providers to aid their progression at the end of the programme. We will also invite employers, and representatives from Colleges, Army, Fire Service and Police to inform learners about the careers and course options available. Opportunities will be available for learners for work experience in the areas in which they would like to progress.
Personal and Social Development
Sessions will un covering a variety of topics including healthy eating, managing own money , healthy lifestyle and group activities and projects in the workshop.
Learners will also be offered the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities such as:
- Canoeing
- Bowling
- Museum visits
- Outdoor activities
- Teambuilding activities
