Key Skills Development / Consolidation:

Assessing present learners levels of literacy and numeracy and to consolidate the learner’s level of key skill achievement through developing a stepping stone approach, so that learners have a good foundation level that allows them to progress towards the National Standard leading eventually on to advanced qualifications.

Curriculum Enrichment:
E.g. additional advice and guidance, reorientation activities.

Qualified training staff from Calderdale Training and College Student Services offers Independent information advice and guidance    to all learners on career opportunities, career development, education, planning and vocational routes.

Work Placement Taster Opportunities:

All learners are encouraged to take up the opportunities to experience the world of work and real employment from an early stage of commencing the programme.

Presently 43% of programme learners are experiencing work tasters in their chosen vocational area with local and national employers.
