Programme Content:

The programme runs as projects with access to practical activities which also concentrate on PSD, communication skills, work awareness and progression planning.

Key Learning Outcomes :

Internal certificates will be awarded for aspects of each project that show the attainment of key learning through skills such as working with others, improving own learning and performance and problem solving.

Integration with other ‘Gateway and ‘hub’ providers :

We work in partnership with Tier 2 providers within North and South Kirklees and learners can have group or individual visits to inform and provide a smooth transition. We also work closely with e2e PAs to make transition a positive experience for the learner.

Any selection criteria:

All learners are interviewed. A range of diagnostic assessment tools are used including BSKB basic skills, Richter Scale etc. Must be working at high entry 3 Level 1 and capable of moving onto a Level 2 provision.

Typical weekly hours:

Initially 16 hours on the initial assessment period weeks 1-10. Rising from week 11-22 to 30 hours per week that may include a work placement if identified on the learners ILP as a need.

Aspects covered by programme:

All learners are encouraged to participate in the design of their individual programme. Functional Skills are integral throughout all aspects of the programme and achievements accredited through the new Functional Skills qualifications. Vocational Sampling Personal and Social Skills development is embedded throughout the programme. Placements are available with local employers and voluntary organisations. Learners are encouraged to review and design their programme delivery during weekly group meetings Leavers can continue to access advice, support and guidance according to individual need.

As we are a generic e2e provider we can offer a variety of work placements/sampling.

How will you integrate with other providers and facilitate the progression of learners to Tier 3:

We work in partnership with all the Tier 3 providers within North and South Kirklees. Working closely with the E2E PA’s to make a smooth transition for the learner. We also have an in-house apprenticeship unit.
