Key Skills development / consolidation: |
GP will identify and establish from the initial assessment processes and build upon the knowledge from previous experiences and transition from Tier 2 to consolidate and embed any key skills work into the planned vocational/Apprenticeship route. The e2e subject specialists will focus on preparing the learner to progress onto the full Apprenticeship programme through integrating the Key Skills work into the learner’s portfolio and where appropriate allow learner’s to complete the relevant Key Skills test thus giving the learner accreditation of prior learning and achievement.

Curriculum Enrichment:
E.g. additional advice and guidance, reorientation activities.

GP will give the learner advice and guidance opportunities throughout the duration of the Tier 3 programme ensuring the individual has access to information at the start, mid and end point of their learning programme.
GP will offer and encourage learners the appropriate opportunity to access the additional enrichment activities and will fully utilise the partnership in identifying relevant external activities to enhance learning and progression. GP currently access the Ken George project, Phoenix Radio in addition to GP offering opportunities to visit City centres, meet with the relevant occupational employers’ premises and undertake bowling to name a few.

Work Placement Taster Opportunities: |
GP are able to offer through its large database of employers the opportunity for learners to undertake either short term job tasters or slightly longer work placements in Child Care, Care of the Elderly, Retail and Customer Service environments. GP will encourage learners to access job tasters and work placements at an early stage to help improve learners’ confidence and to prepare them for progression into an Apprenticeship programme. GP will fully utilise the Partnership to ensure that the learner has the appropriate job taster and work placement opportunities to meet their occupational aspirations. |
