Programme Content:

Phoenix Radio is a full-time community radio station serving Halifax and other areas of Calderdale as well as being available on the internet.

We offer a 12 week Tier 1 e2e programme aimed at engaging young people who may need to develop their communication skills and build their confidence.
The programme has an accredited element provided through the ASDAN Award Of Personal Effectiveness and Volunteer Award. Young people will gain experience in planning radio programmes and learn interviewing skills.

As a result of being part of a full-time radio station they will benefit from increased confidence both as individuals and in working as a group/team. We can also offer comic book designing and other visual art-based projects.

Learners will have the opportunity to assess their suitable post course options and take responsibility for the planning, the delivery and the evaluation of their project.

Key Learning Outcomes :

The 12 week structured programme consists of complementary modules promoting empowerment, self worth, teamwork, motivation, problem solving and life skills.

The programme is focused on building both team activities and individual skills. The possibility of working towards the ASDAN Volunteers Award is also available should young people choose to work outside of the programme hours.

Please note that several former e2e trainees now have either regular shows on Phoenix or have contributed in the background to the station. This is an unique opportunity for young people to develop individual skills and equip them for other opportunities in life.
