The lead partner of the Calderdale and Kirklees e2e Partnership is the Huddersfield Technical College Contracts, Compliance and Partnerships.

The e2e Partnership consists of a number of training provider partners who deliver a range of training programmes.   The learning offers of the Partnership and our delivery providers are listed in this Directory section of the website. 

Our Directory of Provision has been significantly updated and refreshed this year to reflect our new e2e programme.

Working with West Yorkshire Learning and Skills Council we have introduced a new three-tier e2e programme that will operate from 1st August 2007 across all e2e providers in Calderdale and Kirklees.

We re-engineered the programme in the light of the completion of the Rise to the Challenge programme and the need to prepare for the introduction of the Foundation Learning Tier (with its emphasis on the need for individually responsive training programmes, the importance of clear progression pathways and the value of learner credit accumulation).   Above all we needed to ensure that the e2e programme was more attractive to a wider group of disengaged young people and that it was more responsive to their individual needs.

Referral Process

A new learner entering tier 1, always with the expectation of progression to tier 2, will have a formal referral.  

A tier 1 learner joining a tier 2 programme will not need re-referral.   Our dedicated PAs will be responsible for checking the appropriateness of that progression not later than the end of the formal initial assessment period with the tier 2 provider.

New starters entering tier 2 or 3 for the first time will need a formal referral in the usual way.

Existing learners on a tier 2 programme will not need re-referral to tier 3.   Again our dedicated PAs will be responsible in the usual way for checking the appropriateness of that progression.

Existing learners on a tier 2 programme WILL need re-referral if they are referred back to a tier 1 provider.   Existing learners on a tier 3 programme WILL need re-referral back to a tier 1 or 2 provider.

Learner Entitlement

It will be apparent that under this re-engineered programme cumulative learner length of stay will increase.  

Since learners are e2e learners whether they are on a tier 1,2 or 3 programme the usual requirement for a 22 week review with the learner will be calculated on the basis of their cumulative programme i.e. if the learner has been with a number of providers successively  the 22 week review date will be calculated from their initial start date.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ALL LEARNERS, WHETHER TIER 1,2 OR 3 ARE e2e LEARNERS AND THAT THEY ARE ALL  ENTITLED TO APPLY FOR AN EMA.

Accent Community Partnerships Accent Community Partnership is based in Huddersfield and offers programmes in Construction - carpentry/joinery, bricklaying, painting and decorating and plastering. Accent offers a range of qualifications including Occupational, Basic Skills, Keys Skills and work related short courses such as First Aid and Health and Safety. A & R Training Services Ltd A&R Training Services has bases in Huddersfield and Halifax that offer Level one qualifications and job tasters in childcare, care, retail, and warehousing. We offer the opportunity to take part in sport / fitness and health / beauty programmes to develop personal skills. Biketrain Community College Biketrain Community College is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 provider and is based in Batley. They offer the opportunity for young people to partake in motorcycle/motor vehicle mechanics and maintenance. Functional skills are embedded within the mechanics lessons. ABC Award certificates can be gained in motorcycle/motor vehicle maintenance. BTCV BTCV are based in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury and offer programmes in conservation and landscape gardening.  BTCV offers a range of qualifications including Occupational, Basic Skills and work related short courses such as First Aid and Health and Safety. Calderdale Training Calderdale Training is based in Calderdale College, Halifax. Calderdale Training provides training in: Basic First Aid, Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene, Accredited Certificate in Exercise and Fitness, IT, Literacy and numeracy and Outdoor education activities. Work experience tasters in business admin, retail, childcare, hairdressing and beauty therapy, catering, elderly care, horticulture, electrical installation, construction trades including plumbing and joinery. CMS Vocational Training CMS has bases in Huddersfield and Batley. The e2e programme provides a flexible, supportive programme of activities, work placements and tasters, help with literacy, numeracy and IT and NVQs in Administration, Retail and Warehousing. Coupled with our strong employer links we provide a sound base for moving into employment. General Physics (UK) Ltd General Physics is based in Halifax and offers assistance with basic skills, vocational guidance (via practical work based tasters) and self-development. All participants are encouraged to achieve their full potential and are supported where required through the help of external agencies. Kirklees College: Huddersfield Centre KC Training's Entry to Employment (e2e) programme offers tailored learning to help individuals improve their skills, build confidence, access further education and training or find work. Kirklees College : Dewsbury Centre KC Training's Entry to Employment (e2e) programme offers tailored learning to help individuals improve their skills, build confidence, access further education and training or find work. JHP Training JHP are based in Halifax and offer a comprehensive range of NVQ qualifications at level 1; these include administration, IT and customer service. Our offer extends to Parents with Prospects at entry level 3 and level 1. This gives learners the opportunity to improve parenting skills and move forward towards qualifications in childcare. All of the above qualifications can offer a progression route to an apprenticeship programme with JHP Training. Kirklees Youth Training KYT runs centres in Dewsbury and Halifax offering training in Motor Vehicle Manufacturing and Building Maintenance. Learners are also involved in a range of outdoor pursuits, projects, activities and residentials that can lead to a job and a qualification. Mark Betts Hair Education Mark Betts Hair Education is based in Dewsbury and offers NVQ1 qualifications and tasters in hairdressing and customer services. They also provide opportunities forwork tasters in beauty therapy. MPC North Ltd MPC North Ltd is based in Huddersfield and offers training in military preparation. MPC North Ltd offers a range of qualifications including Occupational, Basic Skills and work related short courses such as First Aid and Health and Safety and gives learners the opportunity to spend up to 1 week with a military unit on at “look at Life”. National Children's Centre National Children’s Centre is based in Huddersfield. Advice and training in personal and social development is offered plus help with progressing onto their chosen vocational area. There may be opportunities for work experience if appropriate. Phoenix Radio Phoenix Radio is based in Halifax. The programme will link directly to the full-time broadcasting activities. Learners will be a part of a unique FM Radio learning environment. Other skills will be developed such as team-building skills. Project Challenge Project Challenge is based in Halifax and offers a 6-month basic skills and innovative outdoor training programme. Residentials are interspersed with the training, working towards the expedition in a wilderness area of Europe. Rathbone Rathbone has bases in Dewsbury and Huddersfield. The Rathbone e2e programme offers a caring and supportive learning environment providing help with literacy, numeracy and IT skills, qualifications in First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Health and Safety, work placements and tasters, and NVQ Foundation level Childcare course. The programme provides learners with the skills and experience to progress into employment or an Apprenticeship. S & S Training Service Ltd S & S Training Services are based in the centre of Huddersfield and offer a range of level 1 programmes for 16 - 18 year olds who want to follow a work-based route to prepare them for an Apprenticeship. Sporting Pride Community Trust The programme focuses on three areas: Basic Skills Development, Vocational Development and Personal and Social Development. A wide range of activities are available within The Zone and at the Galpharm Stadium.Opportunities exist in coaching, sports leadership, retail, maintenance, groundmanship, playwork, marketing, stewarding, fitness and many other areas. WORKWISE Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council Workwise Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is based in Halifax. Training sessions will take into consideration each learners learning style, interests and be relevant to the learner’s social and vocational needs to develop self-esteem and confidence and encourage supported careers progression. YH Training YH Training Services Ltd are based in the centre of Huddersfield and offers programmes in Business Administration, Retail and Customer Service.
